OUR OBJECTIVES
The by-laws of Bunye Beftu Buhle Beftu SACCO states that the objectives of the society shall be the promotion of the economic interest of its members in accordance with the co-operative principles and the encouragement of members in the spirit and practice of economic, management, mutual help and self-help; more in particular to;
- a) Raise funds by issuing shares to members, receiving deposits and raising loans from members, by other forms of self –financing, and by borrowing from any other source as approved by the commissioner.
- b) Acquire land by purchase, lease or otherwise for the erection of necessary buildings or to lease such buildings.
- c) Acquire by purchase, lease or rent and operate plant, machinery, vehicles, implements and equipment as may be requisite for the furtherance of these objectives.
- d) Create an Insurance Fund to compensate members in the event of loss of property while in the society’s custody.
- e) Instruct and encourage members in improved methods of agriculture, business, general affairs and co-operative principles.
- f) Accept and invest members’ funds.
- g) May join as a member in secondary and national co-operative societies.
- h) Enter in contracts, institute and defend lawsuits.
- i) Promote other measures designed to encourage members in the spirit and practice of economic management, mutual help and self –help to achieve common development goals.
- j) Create a platform where members can discuss and assess economic projects.
- k) Shall undertake any activity to carry out its objects subject to the approval of the General Meeting.
- l) May co-operate with registered co-operatives.
- m) Do such other things as are incidental, conducive and necessary for the proper exercise of the above powers.
